Rebecca Margolis is a professor and Pratt Foundation Chair of Jewish Civilisation at the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation at Monash University. She was previously an associate professor of Canadian Jewish Studies at the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on Yiddish culture, notably new Yiddish Cinema. She is the author of Jewish Roots, Canadian Soil: Yiddish Cultural Life in Montreal, 1905-1945 (2011) and Yiddish Lives On: Strategies of Language Transmission (2023).
